Self-similarity, 2019

What is reduplication? My attention was caught by the concept "mise en abyme", which describes a self-reflexive repetition in a text or image. In the natural world, this phenomenon has been studied in terms of fractals which led me to some of my main fascinations - visual illusions and plants.
In this project, I am using a camera as a tool to exercise the process of mise en abyme dealing with the concept of reflection, recursion and infinity. These phenomena are inextricably linked to our relationship with nature. By experimenting with the multiple projections of the images I am generating a new narrative within a narrative.
